Hito 1 - "Devlog 1.5"
This is our first development devlog, and we've made some significant updates. First, we implemented a slingshot-style movement, where you drag your character by holding left click, and by releasing your click, the character moves in the direction opposite to the cursor.
The movement, however, is affected by gravity, which means it will eventually drop to the floor.
This is our first prototype of the movement system. As you can see, there are messages in the upper left corner which serve as to indicate whenever the user holds or releases the mouse's left click.
When the mouse click is being held, a "Neee" message appears and, when released, a "Wuuuu" message will appear instead.
Despite having a clear idea of how the characters in our game will move, it's still not clear enough to the player where the character will jump, or how intense the jump will be (i.e. how far do I drag my mouse click to make my character go from one platform to another without falling off the map?). Besides, we have a character that, for now, is using the Godot logo as a placeholder sprite. Same goes for the platforms, which are the same logo but stretched.
On the other side we made a simple map to start using our character in a real enviroment of testing, our game would be located in a fight bewteen two brotherhoods, in this map we can see a the fight in the middle of "La araña".
And we made an original character to fight for his brotherhood, the little engineer:
Finally we ended with this final result for our first "Hito".
